EarthCube Architecture Implementation Planning

View Original Article

The National Science Foundation (NSF) has tasked the EarthCube Science Support Office (ESSO) with creating a detailed architecture and implementation plan from the EarthCube architecture blueprint. Said blueprint was defined at the May 2016 Architectural Framework Workshop and in discussions at the 2016 EarthCube All Hands meeting.

NSF has outlined an aggressive schedule. ESSO is working with a consultant group (Xentity, based in Golden, CO) to develop the workshop blueprint into a detailed EarthCube architecture and provide a corresponding implementation plan.  In August, the EarthCube Leadership Council appointed an Architecture Implementation Plan – Tiger Team (AIP-TT) to provide advice and guidance to ESSO and to the consultants in the creation of the architecture implementation plan. The team has convened and is working closely with Xentity to keep the project on track. Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of Architecture Implementation Planning in a future newsletter.
