In Mid-July, an upgrade of the OpenColorado data catalog to CKAN version 2.5.2 was completed successfully. The data catalog allows any municipality, county, government agency, nonprofit, or individual to share open data with the public. Additionally, the open source tools that we use allow governments and community organizations. This furthermore provides open access to data on their own websites while publishing to a central state-wide catalog.
The upgrade brings several functional and performance improvements, such as:
- More built-in dataset previews
- A more user-friendly look & feel
- API access to datasets
- The option to mark datasets as private or public
- Improved dataset authorization under organizations
- Performance improvements
Furthermore, if you use the API wrapper, you can find an updated PHP wrapper at https://github.com/opencolorado/PHP-Wrapper-for-CKAN-API.
Xentity Corporation provided development support for this upgrade as well as several other improvements to the OpenColorado data platform. Learn more about OpenColorado.
