Production and Development

For over thirty years the Geospatial Technology and Application Center (GTAC) has supported the US Forest Service Primary and Secondary Base series products. GTAC has focused on covering all National Forest System lands.  Geospatial Technology and Application Center (GTAC) has a continuing requirement for Cartographic Services. Support has provided to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service (FS) (the Agency), for over three (3) decades.

Routine Cartographic Support Needed

Geographic information used to derive FSTopo and Secondary Base mapping products are evolving solutions focused on the consolidation of national enterprise datasets.  The changes reduce conflicts and duplicity when maintaining disparate datasets.  In addition to data related changes, the program focuses on developing standardized methodologies. Consequently, these will be used for establishing workflows to improve existing data. Also in creating new national datasets using multiple sources.  Currently these workflows either do not exist or are not sufficient to work well with other programs.  The program objective is to develop a routine process to integrate enterprise geospatial data into FSTopo and other USFS map products.

Xentity shall perform routine cartographic support to produce the Forest Service base map product; FSTopo. The work shall consist of revising, integrating and collecting data for features covering the FS area of interest. Furthermore, the integration process will be replacing current FSTopo data with this new data where appropriate. This requires analyzing the new data; determine how the new data replaces existing data. Xentity shall also perform routine cartographic support to produce the following Forest Service base map products. This includes the Forest Visitor Map (FVM), Wilderness Map, Special Use Map, Ranger District Map, format conversions, annotation products, Forest Atlas, thematic maps, and specialty products like map services and AGOL products. As a result, this routine cartographic support will produce the Forest Service’s base map product: FSTopo.

Support For Cartographic Services For GTAC

Again, Geospatial Technology and Application Center (GTAC) has a continuing requirement for Cartographic Services. It has been provided to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service (FS) (the Agency), for over three (3) decades. And our support and services will help to continue providing such.
